They had a great future but chose TV bread-and-circus, apathy, militarism and thus have plutocracy, national debt that can never be repaid, loss of manufacturing base, totally failed education system, no engineering, science, or even the trades that support any civilized culture– they and their decendants will not have freedon, only feudalism under a military-industrial system of very limited life.
