I think “harm” would likely be inclusive of causing death.

I think you should know that many of the second hand smoke studies have been shown as biased. There is just as much junk science on the pro-tobacco side as there is the anti-tobacco side regarding this issue.

The 1993 study by the EPA - that contributed in a major way to todays' popular opinion - was vacated by a United States District Court because it was proved that the committed to a result, then cherry-picked cases to support their preferred outcome. There is also question in the scientific community to the validity testing a research procedures.

I guess that it's really easier to just let someone spoon-feed you "truth" though. Sherry, maybe you would feel more comfortable at CNN or Fox News.

That first depends, I suppose on how one defines "other people" here:

"All we have is the belief that people should do what people want to do, unless it causes harm to other people. And that had better be clear and provable harm. No nonsense about second-hand smoke or hurtful, insensitive language, please."

I think "harm" would likely be inclusive of causing death.

Yes...

“There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.”

What can not be ignored is...until that action interferes with another to do the same.

The author makes an excellent case for a woman's right to choose.
In fact it's also a good case for legalizing drugs, prostitution, pedophilia, racial discrimination, polygamy and a host of other practices that conservatives say they hate.
