Raging Moderate

You’ve seen “ER” and I’ve seen “ER” and I think we can both agree that if bipartisan health care reform were a patient, Doctor Obama would be dejectedly dropping the paddles, ripping off his mask and asking Nurse Pelosi to call it.
Oh, yeah. It’s finished. Done with. Kaput. Defunct. Deceased. Extinct. Artifacto. Fuggedaboutit. Game over, man. Part of the vast past tense. Washed up. Down the drain. Sleeping with the fishies. Sheer finito. Totally obliterated. See ya. Wouldn’t want to be ya. Pushing up daisies. Eaten by the undertoad. Down Goes Frazier! Rests in peace. Bereft of life. Shuffled off its mortal coil. Crossed the distant shore. Run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisible. Stick a fork in it. It’s history. A memory. In the archives. Way gone. Say bye. Then again… you never know. Reconciliation. Such an innocent word.
With the deftness of Houdini, the president conjured up a seance where Democrats and Republicans sat down together and aired out differences like actual humans, and while the festivities conspicuously lacked any hand-holding choruses of “Kumbaya,” the two sides did refrain from physically throttling each other and nobody staggered out in full view of the cameras cradling a bloody stump. Which, for these guys, is a leap. They did, however, continue to lock out ordinary Americans by talking in a special Congressional code known as Politico-Speak. And I’m here to decipher.

“WHERE’S THE CHANGE?!” The sixty million Americans who voted for Obama are scratching their heads and questioning the War on Terror paradigm and the ever-escalating 9/11 wars. This is the perfect time to deprogram them with Questioning the War on Terror: A Primer for Obama Voters–the book carefully designed for and tested on real live Obama voters.
It’s guaranteed to turn the average Obama voter into a War on Terror skeptic overnight! The revised and updated 2010 edition, shipping in March, includes almost 20 pages of all-new material questioning Obama’s peace prize, the record military budget and troop deployments, plans to try KSM and the false-confession five, the Afghan escalation and war on Pakistan, the Ft. Hood shooting, the Christmas Day flaming-underwear affair, the invasion of Haiti, new threats to Iran, and more.
“As false-flag flammable underwear plots fizzle, plans to try terror patsies founder, military budgets metastasize, the Constitution remains condemned to irrelevance, criminal wars continue, and the more things change the more they stay the same, this book, sadly, remains more relevant than ever.” – Kevin Barrett, revised and updated 2010 edition, Questioning the War on Terror: A Primer for Obama Voters
“Americans have now joined the rest of the world in regarding the war in Iraq as illegitimate because based on lies. Kevin Barrett’s book shows that the same is true of the war in Afghanistan. President Obama’s promise to base his administration’s policies on good intelligence should, therefore, lead him to bring this war to a quick end.”–David Ray Griffin, author of The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7: Why the Final Official Report about 9/11 Is Unscientific and False

The election of Republican Scott Brown to the U.S. Senate by Democratic voters in Massachusetts sends President Obama a message. Voters perceive that Obama’s administration has morphed into a Bush-Cheney government. Obama has reneged on every promise he made, from ending wars, to closing Gitmo, to providing health care for Americans, to curtailing the domestic police state, to putting the interests of dispossessed Americans ahead of the interests of the rich banksters who robbed Americans of their homes and pensions.
But what can Obama do other then spout more rhetoric?
The Democrats were destroyed as an independent party by jobs offshoring and so-called free trade agreements such as NAFTA. The effect of “globalism” has been to destroy the industrial and manufacturing unions, thus leaving the Democrats without a power base and source of funding.
Obama and the Democrats cannot be an opposition party, because Democrats are as dependent as Republicans on corporate interest groups for campaign funding.
The Democrats have to support war and the police state if they want funding from the military/security complex. They have to make the health care bill into a subsidy for private insurance if they want funding from the insurance companies. They have to abandon the American people for the rich banksters if they want funding from the financial lobby.

President Barack Obama instructed Justice Department attorneys to argue last week in San Francisco before Federal District Judge Vaughn Walker, that he must toss out the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Shubert et al v. Obama et al lawsuit challenging the secret state’s driftnet surveillance of Americans’ electronic communications.
This latest move by the administration follows a pattern replicated countless times by Obama since assuming the presidency in January: denounce the lawless behavior of his Oval Office predecessor while continuing, even expanding, the reach of unaccountable security agencies that subvert constitutional guarantees barring “unreasonable searches and seizures.” EFF senior staff attorney Kevin Bankston wrote:
“In a Court filing late Friday night, the Obama Administration attempted to dress up in new clothes its embrace of one of the worst Bush Administration positions–that courts cannot be allowed to review the National Security Agency’s massive, well-documented program of warrantless surveillance. In doing so it demonstrated that it will not willingly set limits on its own power and reinforced the need for Congress to step in and reform the so-called ’state secrets’ privilege.”
In June, Judge Walker dismissed EFF’s landmark Hepting v. ATT lawsuit, when he ruled that the telecoms enjoyed immunity from liability after the Democratic-controlled Congress rammed through the despicable FISA Amendments Act (FAA) in July 2008.
“Obama Confronts a Choice on Copters” read this week’s New York Times. The President soon “will have to decide whether to proceed with some of the priciest aircraft in the world — a new fleet of 28 Marine One helicopters that will each cost more than the last Air Force One….The choice confronting Mr. Obama encapsulates the tension between two imperatives of his nascent presidency, the need to meet the continuing threats of an age of terrorism and the demand for austerity in a period of economic hardship.”
This is a gross misrepresentation of the choice Obama faces. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn) and others have alleged that the contract for 28 Marine One helicopters was awarded to the Italian firm Finmeccanica as a thank you for Italy’s participation in the Iraq War. The evidence, however, indicates that the contract was more specifically a payoff to the Italian government for supplying the forged documents showing Saddam had obtained weapons grade uranium from Niger. President Bush famously used this fraudulent “yellowcake” intelligence to justify launching the war.
When reviewing the helicopter contract, President Obama can either be actively complicit by continuing with Finmeccanica; he can duck and cover by simply switching to the proper supplier, Sikorsky; or he can use the mandated review of this purchase decision to root out those in military, the aerospace industry and Congress who were willing to compromise the security of all subsequent American presidents so that Bush could cover up his core war crime.
Officials up and down the chain who awarded the contract knew that they were doing something extraordinarily wrong. The rigged bidding process bypassed, for example, Marine One pilots who repeatedly sought to give input. They had many safety concerns. At the time of the bid, the helicopter chosen was not certified to fly in the U.S. It was an old model made of heavy materials; this flew in the face of why the President supposedly needed a new fleet: i.e., so many extra security devices had been added to Marine One after 9/11, it was struggling to lift off. In its losing bid, the Connecticut-based Sikorsky, which had manufactured virtually all presidential helicopters since Eisenhower first ordered one, proposed a new model made of much lighter, composite materials.
But the Marine One pilots’ prime objection, which was raised repeatedly by many other officials in private, was national security. Finmeccanica was doing business with Iran, China and Libya. Why outsource so sensitive a project?
Scott Ritter is the courageous ex-Marine captain and UN weapons inspector who reported the truth about Iraq…they had no weapons of mass destruction.
Following the “success” of their Iraq fraud, Bush and Cheney made similar wild claims about Iran.
Now the Obama administration is picking up the claim that Iran is just “one year” away from developing a successful nuclear weapon.
The CIA has stated that Iran is TEN years away which Ritter points out can be said about ANY country on earth.

As someone who has literally “partied for a living,” (in special events) I claim this with absolute authority:
The. Party. Is. Over.
It’s time to turn off the music, turn up the lights, present the bill, “gather up your jackets and move to the exits” and if necessary–and it obviously is necessary–call the cops. And yeah, I remember the number. It’s 9/11.
The Republicrats need to go home, and don’t even get me started about a third party–because what this country really needs is a second one.
Far away from the Democratic National Convention hype, USSR’s KGB successor, the Russian FSB uncovered an apparent plot to assassinate United States Democratic Party Presidential Candidate Barack Obama during his acceptance speech in Denver.
