Obama On Board

obama-nwo

Barack Obama recently made nice with the Chamber of Commerce and American corporate interests. The Republican punditry in America assumes this is a thinly veiled attempt to “move to the center” in preparation for a difficult 2012 reelection campaign. Jim Cramer hailed Obama’s speech to the Chamber as an epiphany by the President. Obama finally understands the American engine according to Cramer, meaning the President finally gets the importance of Wall Street asset inflation and debt financed personal consumption. The channeling of the Reagan myth was complete. The speech to the Chamber of Commerce did not signal a radical shift in the American fascist system in any way shape or form; actually it was a complete acquiescence by the President to the machine. It was quite a sight to behold.

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Barack Obama: The great jobs killer

As former President Ronald Reagan might have said, “Obama, there you go again.”

The current occupant of the White House claims to know how to create jobs. He claims jobs have been created. But so far the score is Great Obama Depression 2.2 million lost jobs, Obama 0 — a blowout.

Obama is as hopeless, helpless, clueless and bankrupt of good ideas as the manager of the Chicago Cubs in late September. This “community organizer” knows as much about private-sector jobs as Pamela Anderson knows about nuclear physics.

It’s time to call Obama what he is: The Great Jobs Killer. With his massive spending and tax hikes — rewarding big government and big unions, while punishing taxpayers and business owners — Obama has killed jobs, he has killed motivation to create new jobs, he has killed the motivation to invest in new businesses, or expand old ones. With all this killing, Obama should be given the top spot on the FBI’s Most Wanted List.

Obama Misses the Afghan Exit Ramp

Hat Tip: www.opednews.com
They let McChrystal fold his tent in the night and steal silently away from the disaster he leaves behind. White House advisers then brainstormed the idea of replacing McChrystal in Kabul with the straight-arrow Petraeus whose is known for running a tight command. Done!

Master Political Stroke?

Since the announcement Wednesday, the Stanley-out/David-in move has been hailed by Official Washington as a political masterstroke. We shall see. There is, to be sure, some short-term cosmetic cleverness. In my view, however, future pitfalls and pratfalls are likely to far outweigh any political points Obama might score in the near term.

The conventional wisdom holds that Petraeus is the military genius who can still prevail in Afghanistan. But by now even the densest of Obama’s advisers know there will be no prevailing. They see a silver lining, though, in the fact that the choice of Petraeus as successor to McChrystal dumps into Petraeus’s lap a mess that he also helped create, along with McChrystal and Obama (not to mention, Bush, Cheney, et al).

Petraeus is given a mission that virtually everyone but Sens. John McCain, Joe Lieberman, and Lindsey Graham realizes is an impossible assignment. But it gets Petraeus out of the country and–the Obama folks hope–out of contention for the 2012 Republican nomination. In the view of the White House, Petraeus is now in direct charge of the mess in Afghanistan and will find it difficult to pin primary responsibility on Obama. This seems to me largely wishful thinking.

It is far too soon to count Petraeus out.He is politically astute, has powerful friends in Washington, and in testifying to Congress, he has collapsed only once, as far as we know.I believe Petraeus commands wider respect than Obama does–and surely more credibility and respect than the President’ national security adviser, James Jones, branded a “clown” by one of McChrystal’s aides.

$7-a-gallon gas? The folly of O’s oil-spill ‘fix’

President Obama has a solution to the Gulf oil spill: $7-a-gallon gas.

That’s a Harvard University study’s estimate of the per-gallon price of the president’s global-warming agenda. And Obama made clear this week that this agenda is a part of his plan for addressing the Gulf mess.

So what does global-warming legislation have to do with the oil spill?

Good question, because such measures wouldn’t do a thing to clean up the oil or fix the problems that led to the leak.

The answer can be found in Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s now-famous words, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste — and what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

Labor Unions Behind the Refusal to Waive the Jones Act?

The President of the United States was up to his old tricks on Tuesday night when he addressed the nation with his plan to clean up the Gulf of Mexico and prevent future spills. These old tricks were the usual; read words off a teleprompter, avoid the central issues, misdirect the current crisis to achieve an ancillary agenda and claim total competency while blaming everybody else. There were some highly inaccurate statements in the President’s speech even by his standards, however the most glaring is the claim that the Federal government is taking all the steps they can to protect the coastline and the fragile Gulf region. This is simply not the case. The Federal Government has routinely refused viable methods (see previous post here) with the most egregious example being the refusal to waive the Merchant Marine Act of 1920 also known as the Jones Act. An Administration so fascinated by the power of executive fiat is stuggling to satisfy the Left with their lack of response and Executive dictation in regards to the Gulf spill.

Obama’s speech: There’s a pipe spewing a gazillion gobs of oil into the gulf, so let’s build more windmills

For all his reputation as the nation’s Top Talker, Barack Obama took his sweet time giving a maiden Oval Office address to the country. And waiting another nearly 60 days to speak nationally about the oil spill that’s become the worst environmental disaster in the nation’s history.

Obama, the first modern president to pass his first full year in office without addressing the country from his historic desk, had the setting right. Just back from a day-and-a-half on the gulf coast listening, reassuring, talking tourism, eating seafood. He wore the proper suit, had the requisite flags and family photos in the background.

Obama is Boldly Going Nowhere

Nasa has begun to wind down construction of the rockets and spacecraft that were to have taken astronauts back to the Moon — effectively dismantling the US human spaceflight programme despite a congressional ban on its doing so.

Legislators have accused President Obama’s Administration of contriving to slip the termination of the Constellation programme through the back door to avoid a battle on Capitol Hill.

Constellation aimed to build upon what was arguably America’s greatest technological achievement, the first lunar landing of 1969, by launching new expeditions to the Moon and to Mars and worlds beyond. Mr Obama proposed in February that it should be scrapped because it was “over budget, behind schedule and lacking in innovation”, but he has met opposition in Congress, which has yet to approve his plan. The head of Nasa, Major-General Charlie Bolden — an Obama appointee — has now written to aerospace contractors telling them to cut back immediately on Constellation-related projects costing almost $1 billion (£690 million), to comply with regulations requiring them to budget for possible contract termination costs.

Left-Wing Icon Daniel Ellsberg ‘Obama deceives the public’

Daniel Ellsberg, legendary leaker of the “Pentagon Papers” in 1971, still has a bone to pick with the White House. In an interview with SPIEGEL ONLINE, the 79-year-old peace activist accuses President Obama of betraying his election promises — in Iraq, in Afghanistan and on civil liberties.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Mr. Ellsberg, you’re a hero and an icon of the left. But we hear you’re not too happy with President Obama anymore.

Daniel Ellsberg: I voted for him and I will probably vote for him again, as opposed to the Republicans. But I believe his administration in some key aspects is nothing other than the third term of the Bush administration.
