Fox News Dirty Tricks Against Ron Paul No “Mistake”

Fox News Dirty Tricks Against Ron Paul No “Mistake”

Forgive me for being cynical, but Fox News’ claim that airing the wrong CPAC footage and then introducing an interview with Ron Paul on the false premise that he had been booed was merely a “mistake” rings somewhat hollow, especially given the fact that Fox, along with the rest of the establishment media networks, have for years consistently denigrated the Congressman’s presidential aspirations with a myriad of dirty tricks, lies and smear campaigns.

Why The Real Nature of Politics Is So Important

By Adam de Angeli

Published 03/26/10

An enormous body of new activists and groups with the moniker “Tea Party” have mobilized since the Obama administration took power. While the “tea party” meme originated from the $6 million money bomb phenomenon of Ron Paul’s grassroots, the “Tea Party movement” is a beast of its own. It was popularized by Fox News coverage, and—surprise!—is now largely infiltrated by GOP-affiliated groups.

If the victories in 2010 are for the GOP alone, the movement will have lost. One need only look to the origin of the problem: big-government Republicans drove the grassroots into apathy. Conservatives couldn’t get excited for the once-pro-choice governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, who signed a state-level version of ObamaCare into law, or the gun-grabbing John McCain. They stayed home. They didn’t vote, they didn’t mobilize, and they handed the election over to Obama and the Democrats.

That would be a tragedy, except the Republicans needed to learn a lesson.

If a GOP sweep in 2010 means a new breed of John McCains, Mitt Romneys, and Lindsey Grahams in office, we will be back where we started. We will be worse off, not better. Congress will still be over-run with statists spending us into oblivion, but, just as in 2005, there will be no serious opposition from the Right. There will be nowhere to go, but to wait for the Democrats to return to power. And the cycle will go on. And on, and on, until there is no money left to spend.

This is why the Tea Party movement cannot, must not, be herded into the “any Republican over any Democrat” mentality.

Amish, Muslims to be excused from Obamacare mandate?

by WordWayze
march 24, 2010

The Senate health care bill just signed contains some exemptions to the “pay-or-play” mandate requiring purchase of Obamacare-approved health insurance or payment of a penalty fine. As Fox News has pointed out, for instance, the Amish are excused from the mandate:

So while most Americans would be required to sign up with insurance companies or government insurance plans, the church would serve as something of an informal insurance plan for the Amish.

Law experts say that kind of exemption withstands scrutiny.

“Here the statute is going to say that people who are conscientiously opposed to paying for health insurance don’t have to do it where the conscientious objection arises from religion,” said Mark Tushnet a Harvard law professor. “And that’s perfectly constitutional.”

Apparently, this exemption will apply similarly to believers in Islam, which considers health insurance – and, for that matter, any form of risk insurance – to be haraam (forbidden).

FOX Demonizes ‘the Bubba Effect’: But Who’s Bubba?

Hat tip: Brasscheck

Beck warms against “Bubba”

It’s hard to tell what Fox is up to now.

The “news” network was completely happy to provide daily – make that hourly – support to the first full blown American tyranny (Bush/Cheney & Co.)

Now they’re devoting regular air time to spinning doomsday scenarios that involve the federal government morphing into a full blown tyranny including the military shooting at US civilians.

“Bubba” is being painted at the source of the potential problem.

So…who is “Bubba?”

According to Glenn Beck, Bubba is rural man who is:

* self-reliant down to making his own bio-fuel
* uses the Internet to educate himself and communicate with other “Bubbas”
* reads, believes in and is willing to defend the Constitution
* owns guns and is prepared to use them if provoked
* is community minded and does not trust the federal government

That sounds like a good American who has his head screwed on right to me.

If Cash is King, Then Gold is — forgive me — G*d

In 2000, Bob Prechter published a book called “Conquering the Crash” in which he accurately predicted the current financial markets meltdown right down to the bank failures and futile “bailout” actions on the part of the Fed.

This past October, Prechter was asked if we could expect to see a “bottom” any time soon. In other words, the end of the declines and the beginning of the rebuilding of share values.

He quite confidently said the equivalent of “no way!”

That was over four months ago and so far he’s right on the money.

Prechter is a highly respected analyst on Wall Street as demonstrated by his frequent appearances on Bloomberg TV.

Unfortunately, his message is not getting to the “average” investor who is being told to “hold steady.”

Holding steady is a period of dramatic deflation is a great formula for going broke.

Why No Neocon Assassinations? Because The War On Terror Is A Hoax

By Paul Craig Roberts

According to US government propaganda, terrorist cells are spread throughout America, making it necessary for the government to spy on all Americans and violate most other constitutional protections. Among President Bush’s last words as he left office was the warning that America would soon be struck again by Muslim terrorists.

If America were infected with terrorists, we would not need the government to tell us. We would know it from events. As there are no events, the US government substitutes warnings in order to keep alive the fear that causes the public to accept pointless wars, the infringement of civil liberty, national ID cards, and inconveniences and harassments when they fly.

The most obvious indication that there are no terrorist cells is that not a single neocon has been assassinated.
