The "revolution" was initiated over the demand of king George III that the colonials had to stop stealing Indian land. Sure the tax on tea was used as a flag for the common people to get involved, but I understand most imported tea was smuggled in and was more expensive than that on which the tax was paid. Apart from that, I agree that religion was the early method of dominating the people, started thousands of years ago. The "kings' only emerged after the hunter-gatherers declined. "Governments" claim to be the servants of the people but their real purpose is to dominate and control. If religion can be used to support their control they are happy to do so. Lets face the facts.
