The problem is its been over for quite awhile. While we've been asleep or fighting amongst ourselves they've taken over the currency, education, our labor (taxation), trade, etc. If you think the election is going to have any meaningful change you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Turns out that the Birchers were right all along. Could it be said that the more the Establishment ridicules and marginalizes you the closer you are to the truth?

There is at least one firearm for person in my house. Suggest people consider that for themselves.

I am not a constitutional expert, but I do know that the constitution was amended under GW Bush, significantly eroding Americans' individual civil rights. Bringing this bill in under the homeland security act, (a classic piece of fascist legislation) basically gives them a start at controlling food supply. But the point is: the escalating efforts of population control represented by this bill (and many others) will only succeed if people remain in fear, and under the illusion that we have no choice and no power. Educated and united people standing together are NO match for governments, anywhere, anytime. I believe this is the great challenge of these times, globally.. So let's spread the info about what's happening (education) and encourage everyone to stand together (unity) and start to organize. A suggestion:
What about a nationwide coalition of community food gardeners and small producers and ranchers, citizens bringing a class action for the protection of their human and civil rights, as given under the constitution? I'm not living in America, or I would help organize it myself. In the meantime, keep growing your own food and supporting community and local producers. Stay united, grow the movement, stay strong!

This is huge! Is there no more Democracy?

WE MUST TAKE ACTION:

1. Use the OpenSecrets.org website to find out about how much money your Senators and Representatives have received from corporate interests. http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/index.php
Share what you have found out with the media, on blogs, on facebook, on Twitter, etc.

2. Write to your Senators and Representatives and express your OUTRAGE. HOLD YOUR SENATORS and REPRESENTATIVES ACCOUNTABLE. You can find your legislators’ contact information here: http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml

a) Tell your Senators to OPPOSE S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010

b) Tell your Representative to OPPOSE HR 875, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009

	c) Tell both your Senators and Representatives that you know that there are at least 17 Bills or House Resolutions related to HR 2749 including S.510 which would limit the freedoms of Americans.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

S. 510: FDA Food Safety Modernization Act - http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-510
Related legislation: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-510&tab=related

H.R. 875: Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 - http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-875

Will this bill include exemptions for farmer to consumer direct sales? The answer is NO! http://www.govtrack.us/users/questions.xpd?topic=bill:h111-875

How should our local produce by local farmers be affected? It will impose greater taxes, registration fees and pennalties upon local small farmers. Fines can be up to 1,000,000 a day for each day not in compliance with whatever the Food Safety Administration deems as law. http://www.govtrack.us/users/questions.xpd?topic=bill:h111-875

H.R. 2749: Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009 - http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-2749
Jul 30, 2009: This bill PASSED IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES by roll call vote. It now goes to the Senate. We must intervene!

Randy has it right. There is nothing in the US Constitution giving the federal govt. the right to mess with the food supply including your backyard garden. Instead of taking these proposals seriously we should be laughing at them. We have to begin telling the federal govt to go to hell. It's really that simple
