School expels kids who played with airsoft gun on private property

Gunagain-e1380139945669On the bright side: Kid expelled from school?  Hallelujah!  One more mind that is free to explore his passions and possible find his true potential in life.  That’s one more minds out of the grip of the Educational Industrial Complex!  However, this is definitely another step firmly toward Crazytown when it comes to the Second Amendment, and the right to bear arms in a free society.

From the article:

The Virginia Beach seventh graders who were suspended for playing with an airsoft toy gun on their own private property have now been expelled for an entire school year.

The decision was made unanimously by a disciplinary committee consisting of three members of the Virginia Beach City Public Schools board, according to local news.

Khalid Caraballo and Aidan Clark are banned from Larkspur Middle School until at least January, when a new hearing will be convened to determine whether the boys can come back to school early.

Rest assured, this is not an example of “overreach” or “zero tolerance.”  This was a completely reasonable response…at least according to the official statement:

“This is not an example of a public educator overreaching,” said the statement. “This was not zero tolerance at all. This was a measured response to a threat to student safety.”
