Ron Paul raised $5 million in Q3

Ron Paul raised $5 million in the third fundraising quarter, CNN is reporting.

What’s especially striking about the amount is that Paul is likely to be the lone candidate to raise more this quarter, which is traditionally a tough one, than he did in the preceding one. Last time, he raised $4.5 million.

It also, depending on what Mitt Romney ultimately reports, may end up being half of what the Massachusetts pol raised.
UPDATE: Paul adviser Jesse Benton tells me it will be “over $5 million.”
