Steve, Great investigating and story. Am interested in the nullification angle because of several points. Namely NAIS, Real ID . Now the govt says they will abandon NAIS as imagined because of all the grief they were getting at their “listening sessions”, but we know they will just regroup and try a little harder or escalate as you say. Another burr under my saddle (being a rancher from SD) is the national beef checkoff. Mandatory of course, we were denied a vote and did get the issue to the supreme court where they simply said the whole deal was ” government speech” and we are obligated to pay a dollar for every head of cattle we sell. this is paid by cattlemen at every point til the critter stops being sold. It is a tax laid on us by people we didn’t elect and don’t agree about how the money is spent. I feel the court was greivously wrong. if we don’t pay we are prosecuted.
