The TSA and Their Efforts to Bring Naked Body Scanners to Austin

We chat about the efforts of Texans for Accountable Government and Austin activists to prevent the TSA from bringing a naked body scanner to Austin. Activists swarmed a meeting of the Austin Airport Advisory Commission, spoke against intrusive scanners, and the commission ended up voting to recommend that the council join them in opposition to Advanced Imaging Technology and enhanced pat downs at ABIA

Of course the state can make you buy stuff

Of course the state can make you buy stuff

A couple of days ago a man named Henry Hudson, who claims to be something called a “federal judge”, struck down a part of the new so-called “health care bill” that would force so-called “citizens” to buy health insurance from state approved companies. The argument he used was interesting. His claim was that the government lacks the enumerated powers from the constitution to mandate that so-called “citizens” purchase health insurance. Of course Mr. Hudson has no problem with the government mandating that people be forced to buy his “services” even though I doubt there is a phrase in the constitution that specifically allows for this.

Gardasil Approved for Anal Cancer Prevention

Gardasil Approved for Anal Cancer Prevention

The FDA today approved Merck’s Gardasil HPV vaccine for prevention of anal cancer in both males and females ages 9 through 26 years.

HPV — human papillomavirus — is a sexually transmitted infection. It most commonly causes genital warts, but it also causes several cancers and precancerous lesions.

Gardasil already is approved for preventing cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancer in females, and for preventing genital warts in both males and females.

How Can We Have A Healthy Economy If Virtually Everything We Eat And Drink Is Constantly Making Us All Sick?

How Can We Have A Healthy Economy If Virtually Everything We Eat And Drink Is Constantly Making Us All Sick?

In the United States today, we are all being constantly bombarded by chemicals, poisons and toxins. Virtually everything that we eat or drink makes us less healthy. The vast majority of Americans gladly consume aspartame, fluoride, BPA, genetically-modified food, pesticides, high fructose corn syrup, pharmaceutical drugs and toxic vaccines without any concern that those substances may ruin their health. But the truth is that we are getting sicker and sicker and sicker as a nation. According to one recent report, the United States has dropped to 49th place in the world in overall life expectancy. Diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes are absolutely exploding. So how in the world are we supposed to have a healthy and vibrant economy when virtually everything that we eat and drink is constantly making us sick?

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans had mental illness in 2009

More than 45 million Americans, or 20 percent of U.S. adults, had some form of mental illness last year, and 11 million had a serious illness, U.S. government researchers reported on Thursday.

Soup off the menu: New York’s Mayor launches crusade against the salty winter warmer

As the winter months are drawing in, most people like nothing better than to sit down to a big, hot, bowl of soup.

But New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has stepped up his campaign to get the city’s residents to eat healthier and has now targeted the winter-warmer as one of the big offenders.

Dead bodies, cancer patients and sick children just some of the graphic images proposed for U.S. cigarette warnings

Diseased lungs, dead bodies, a man on a ventilator and mothers blowing smoke in their children’s faces are among the images that may end up on cigarette packs in the U.S.
Health officials are considering the striking pictures and accompanying messages in their effort to revamp tobacco warning labels.

Local doctor links spill to symptoms

Local doctor links spill to symptoms

Rodney D. Soto, medical doctor for the Younger You Institute in Santa Rosa Beach, recently started testing and treating patients in relation to high levels of volatile solvents in the blood stream that he says may be linked to BP’s oil spill in the Gulf.

“What I am concerned most about is a long-term effect, that won’t even show up for years, but are going to have tremendous implications in human immune system and hormonal function and brain function,” Soto said.

These compounds (petroleum and dispersants) are liposoluble; meaning they have a “high affinity for fat,” Soto said.

McDonald’s, 29 other firms get health care coverage waivers

McDonald’s, 29 other firms get health care coverage waivers

Nearly a million workers won’t get a consumer protection in the U.S. health reform law meant to cap insurance costs because the government exempted their employers.Thirty companies and organizations, including McDonald’s (MCD) and Jack in the Box (JACK), won’t be required to raise the minimum annual benefit included in low-cost health plans, which are often used to cover part-time or low-wage employees.

The Department of Health and Human Services, which provided a list of exemptions, said it granted waivers in late September so workers with such plans wouldn’t lose coverage from employers who might choose instead to drop health insurance altogether.

Government collusion in human medical experiments no longer just a conspiracy theory

Government collusion in human medical experiments no longer just a conspiracy theory

It used to be that when you talked about Big Government conspiring with Big Pharma to use human beings as guinea pigs in bizarre medical experiments, people would look at you as if you were some kind of loon. “Oh, the American government would never do that,” they’d say, smug in their self assurance that they are somehow ruled by compassionate, honest government operatives and corporate do-gooders who are always looking out for the public’s best interest.

Imagine their shock when the thin veil of disinformation was lifted with last Saturday’s announcement that the U.S. government was apologizing for intentionally infecting innocent Guatemalans with diseases so they could study the effects of antibiotic drugs (http://www.naturalnews.com/029920_U…).
